Sustainable Holiday Traditions: Creating with Desert Plants
Celebrate the holiday season through sustainable creativity and traditional ecological knowledge with AZ(LAND) and Desert Botanical Garden.
This Community Tuesday invites families to explore how Sonoran Desert plants have historically provided materials for everyday life, artistic expression, and cultural practices. Participants will learn about the practical uses of agave fibers through an educational demonstration and explore hands-on activities such as creosote-inspired wreath making and eco-friendly handmade paper journals.
Together, we will reflect on how creative reuse, natural materials, and thoughtful gifting can reduce waste while strengthening our relationship with the environment.
