Love Letters to Bugs: Celebrating Desert Insects

This February, AZ(LAND) and Desert Botanical Garden invite families to celebrate Valentine's Day by showing appreciation for the insects that help sustain our desert ecosystems.

Participants will learn about the ecological roles of insects, including their contributions to pollination, decomposition, and biodiversity. Through a hands-on recycled-paper card-making activity, visitors will create insect-inspired Valentine's cards and write love letters to their favorite desert bugs.

This creative learning experience encourages environmental stewardship by helping participants recognize the importance of even the smallest members of our desert communities.
